MESAS 2008 MAIL-IN CONTEST FOR MEMBERS OF SCAS/MESAS will be released on or before, January 20, 2008 and will be due by March 1, 2008. Cash and Prize Awards are given and each school that participates is guaranteed at least one winner. There will be awards at the School, Region, and State levels. All MESAS clubs will be mailed a contest. The contest will also be published on the SCAS web site. Everyone participating will be recognized. Teachers/Parents will collect the entries and mail as a package to Dr. Don Jordan (address above). The Contest will be mailed to all MESAS Sponsors in the state by January 20, 2008.

Environmental Awareness Student Awards Competition Students in sixth, seventh and eighth grades are invited to demonstrate their environmental knowledge in one of the four divisions: Essay, Poster, Photography, or Public service announcement. Champions of the Environment Monthly Grant Program Grant recipients will receive a one-time award of $500 intended for materials and equipment to improve and expand environmental action projects. Open to all of South Carolina's K-12 teachers and students. Awards are made in October and February with deadlines of September 15 for an October award and January 15 for a February award.
