	SCAS Annual Meeting 2007 The 2007 Annual Meeting was held at the Airport Campus of Midlands technical College. Dr. Tom Reeves, SCAS President, organized the event.

  The SCAS President and Program Chair of the 80th Annual Meeting of the South Carolina Academy of Science expresses appreciation to the individuals, organizations, corporations and industrial sponsors for their outstanding work and sponsorship of the 2007 Annual Meeting.  The current SCAS President - Dr. Tom Reeves wishes to personally thank all those who made the event possible. We'd also like to thank Karen Fox, who was invaluable in organizing the junior academy; David Ferris for helping out with scheduling the program; and Kenley Farmer for getting the Newsletter with the program out in time. Also, the SCAS Council and the faculty and staff of Midlands technical College deserve our appreciation for making the 80th Annual Meeting a success.

An annual meeting is held in the Spring, usually in March or April.  Any member of the SCAS or the SCJAS is eligible to present a paper at the meeting or attend the meeting.  Clemson University will host this year's Annual Meeting on Thursday, March 20, 2008. The deadline for submission of abstracts is February 15, 2008.  Papers must emphasize scientific research and education.  The deadline for submission of papers for SCJAS  is February 4, 2008.
