SC MESAS GOALS

What are the goals of SC MESAS?  The South Carolina Middle / Elementary School Academy of Science, sponsored by the South Carolina Academy of Science (an affiliate of the American Association for the Advancement of Science and the National Association of Academies of Science), is organized with the following objectives:

  • To nurture interest in science and mathematics

  • To communicate science and mathematics through a variety of activities

  • To develop an understanding about what science is and who scientists are

  • To improve science and math achievement

  • To enhance the teaching of science and mathematics through networking

  • To encourage all teachers of math and science to become members of the Middle / Elementary School Academy so these goals may be implemented throughout the State.
